The usage performances of the textile materials mostly depend on the reaction of the materials towards to the forces applied. In order to determine and analyses these reactions, strength properties of the materials can be measured. In this study, tear strength which one of the most important strength property of the fabrics were determined by using plain, twill, satin and ribs fabrics, produced with 100% cotton and 50%-50% cotton-PES yarns. The results of tear strength testing were compared according to the fabric structure, material and measurement method statistically.
