Nowadays, basic aim of the enterprises is to attain the higher efficiency. For this purpose, production resources and time should be used more effective. In this study, factors affecting the garment sewing times were analyzed. Data of the study were obtained from clothing factories. These data contain various operations which lie on workflows of production lines of garment and execution times of operations. REFA method was used in the determining of unit times of operations. Twelve factors affecting the sewing times were examined. These factors are reaching distance, putting distance, seam length, stitch density, seam shape, fabric weight and rpm of motor of sewing machines, fabric size, automatic backward and forward, little, middle and long term stops ,respectively. Equation of unit time was formed according to these factors studied. It is aimed that effectiveness of sewing times used in operations should be increased using this equation. In this study, effect of fabric weight and stitch density to unit time was statistically found unimportant except the other factors examined.
