FAILURE MODE AND EFFECT ANALYSIS IN CLOTHING PRODUCTION

Although the increasing automation, human factor is of big importance in the clothing sector. For this reason, faults made from human are observed in the clothing production. In this study application of failure mode and effect analysis that is used for defining the potential fault types and to decrease the negative effect on production systems were carried out in a selected clothing factory. Failure mode and effect analysis team was established to determine the causes of fault. The team was decided to eliminate the seam fault in the production lines. In the result of this technique, it was obtained % 4.1 decrease of seam fault in the trouser production line and % 5.2 decrease of seam fault in the shirt production line. Additionally, 966.3 minutes shortage was provided in the fault repairing time.
